This weekend, Europe’s biggest music night is making history. Here is everything you need to know about the new venue, the trophy, and the massive K-Pop performance.

For the first time in its five-decade history, Europe’s biggest music night is packing its bags and heading North. The 2026 BRIT Awards Manchester relocation is the most talked-about industry shift of the year, permanently changing the landscape of the UK music scene.

This Saturday, February 28, the 46th edition of the BRITs will broadcast live from the newly opened Co-op Live arena. Consequently, the industry is buzzing about what this new era will look like.

The decision to move the ceremony out of London’s O2 Arena was announced as a multi-year deal, meaning the awards will stay in the North through at least 2027.

To celebrate the 2026 BRIT Awards Manchester debut, the organizers fully embraced the city’s rich heritage:

  • The Trophy: Manchester-born designer Matthew Williamson created this year’s iconic statuette. The award is cast in an amber-toned resin, directly paying tribute to the city’s famous “worker bee” symbol.

  • The Host: Comedian Jack Whitehall returns to host for a record-breaking sixth time. He has already promised an “Ode to Manchester” during his opening monologue, noting the city is where he started his comedy career.

Who is Nominated and Performing?

The change of scenery is accompanied by one of the most diverse nominee lists in the show’s history. Women and non-binary artists account for nearly 70% of the nominees this year.

The Top Nominees:

  • Breakout stars Olivia Dean and Lola Young lead the pack with five nominations each, including the coveted Artist of the Year.

  • Rocker Sam Fender follows closely with four nods for his album People Watching.

  • Pop icon Lily Allen is also making a massive comeback with three nominations for her deeply personal record, West End Girl.

The Historic Performances: The live stage will feature heavy hitters like Harry Styles, Rosalía, and Wolf Alice. However, the most anticipated moment is a historic K-Pop crossover.

Vocalists Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami will take the stage as their fictional trio HUNTR/X (from the hit film KPop Demon Hunters) to perform their nominated song “Golden”. This marks the first time K-Pop performers have ever taken the BRITs stage.

The ceremony airs this Saturday on ITV and ITVX in the UK, and streams globally on YouTube.
